The fascinating new documentary “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #&%!” based on Mark Manson’s best-selling self-help book explores society’s obsession with pursuing pleasure. Universal has just published the first trailer for it.
Manson’s book, which has more than 15 million copies sold worldwide since its publication in 2017, turned into a movie. It directed by Nathan Price and produced by Matthew Metcalfe. The new film”. A cinematic documentary aimed to help us become less dreadful people,” according to the official synopsis. It contains some raw realities, and it includes some fundamental facts that expressed in R-rated language.
Manson plays the lead in the documentary, leading the plot as he “cuts through the crap to give his not-giving-a-#@% philosophy. A dose of raw, refreshing honesty that tells us how to live more fulfilling, grounded lives”. (Disappointment Panda, a character from the novel whose ability to tell people the hard truth, is also a part of the project.)
“One day, you’re going to pass away. I simply wanted to remind you”. The author says as he introduces himself and begins the movie’s trailer by calling it “bullshit”. “to go about with the idea that having a high sense of self-worth depends on standing out.
One of the cornerstones of Manson’s counsel on how to be positive, grateful, and, therefore, joyful is discarding that idea. It involves changing your mindset to see that the idealized future that social media promotes or what the brain perceives as “better” isn’t the end-all and be-all. Near the song’s conclusion, Manson states. “There are only a select few things in life that are ever worth giving a fuck about”.
The producers employ several historical and personal incidents in the teaser to hint at Manson’s distinctive self-help style. The author even jumps into the middle of the action. For example, he may seen relaxing on a floaty while surrounded by synchronized swimmers in one shot, hinting at what’s coming in the movie.

Manson adds, “It’d be a hell of a lot simpler if I could simply hit you with six simple steps to life success”. But you have to feel it to get into this stuff, right? It reads. “The simple guidance from “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #&%!”. Which has sold over 15 million copies, is now accessible on film. The book “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #&%!” argues that handling lemons well is more important than turning them into lemonade for us to improve our lives.”
“The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #&%!” will debut in select theaters on January 4, thanks to a partnership between Universal and the documentary and music film expert Abramorama.
